LearnSpain: Qualified Teachers from Spain in US Schools
LearnSpain brings Spanish qualified teachers and recent graduates in Education to US schools. These professionals, who are qualified to teach in European schools and are independent English users (minimum IELTS band score 5 or equivalent), participate in a J1-Visa program.
Participants hold at least one of the following qualifications: a degree in Pre-school Education, a degree in Elementary Education, or any degree plus a Master in Secondary Education.
With this program, US schools have the unique opportunity to host Spanish teachers who will teach native Spanish, globalize the classroom, enrich the multicultural environment of the school, and promote intercultural exchanges. Schools can incorporate an experienced teacher or a language assistant.

SALARY
According to US standards for qualified teachers (based on their experience and resume)

Two Professional Profiles in Learn Spain: Main Teachers or Language Assistants
The Spanish professionals selected by Meddeas to participate in LearnSpain need to hold the same qualifications and are independent English users (minimum IELTS band score 5 or equivalent). The qualifications they must hold to apply are:

1/ Main Teacher: Independent Role
- Specific requirements for main teachers: to be working as teachers in Spain, and to have at least two years teaching experience.
- Main teachers from Spain can lead classes, grade students, prepare lesons, and any other tasks generally developed by the main teacher. They can also deliver lessons and conversational activities in Spanish. Main teachers can expose students and staff to different teaching techniques techniques; and they can also support and train the Spanish Department and its teachers.
- Salary: according to US standards for qualified teachers (based on their experience and resume).
- Program length: up to three years, which can be extent to five years.
2/ Spanish Language Assistants: Supportive Role
- Language assistants deliver conversational activities alongside the main teacher, hold one-on-one conversation sessions or in small groups, lead conversation sessions with teachers, and help language teachers prepare classes and organize Spanish clubs.
- Salary: $1,600 per month. Schools might decide to complement a lower salary by providing accommodation.
- Program length: one or two semesters.
In any case, the application deadline for interested schools is March 31st.
